Guelph, ON, Canada May 2006 Abstract: This article was designed to provide three different aspects of information about the ingredients of Fu-Ai™. The first is to provide a scientific background of menopause from Western medical science. The second is to provide a background of menopause according to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Finally this paper provides a scientific literature review of the seven most important herbs in Fu-Ai™: Angelica Sinensis, Epimedium, Curculigo, Morindae, Leonurus, Moutan, and Anemmarhena. The literature review provides scientific support of the efficacy of these herbs in therapeutic use and allows us to correlate their successful synergistic effects in Fu-Ai™.
